Snap On Or Halfords

  1. I use what Corner Speed use - they are fab, and not too pricey - and do factory seconds like I got which is not noticeable in situ for half price  badge on them is shit though o_O

I don't even know what they are called

  2. Some snap on stuff is worth having. Some stuff you’re just paying for the name.

  3. I bought a second hand Snap On 2 piece tool chest off eBay, superb quality.
Built like a tank and weighs nigh on as much as one!! It will last forever and maintains a good sell on value, if you can afford one that’s what I would/have done.

  4. I don't move my tools about, I only use them in the "wooden" garage. Most everything hangs on hooks, screwdrivers sit in drilled wood shelves. power tools are on larger shelves. It saves a few quid, but more importantly I can always find the tool I'm looking for!

  6. Teng tools. Their cabs are very good. Used them for years and they've been faultless. No lifetime guarantee, although in truth, I've not broken any just worn a couple of screwdrivers out.... I use more Mac tools now. Lifetime warranty and not as pricey as Snap-on. Tbh, the only stuff I've broken has been Snap-on. It gets replaced, but that doesn't help in the middle of a job...

  7. I bought second hand Snap On roll cab and top box, had them quite a few years and can probably get back what I paid for them. To be honest, main reason I bought Snap On, is the resale value.

If you can afford it, buy decent used Snap On.

  8. Halfords Pro for home, but I use a Snap-On ratchet screwdrivers for work. I've got the Halfords Pro chest sets and Halfords Pro inserts to go in them. All have a quality feel and will probably outlive me. I do all my own servicing on the bike and as much as I can on the car, with mates occasionally turning up on their bikes asking for stuff doing like a cheeky oil change (don't know their arse from their elbow).

  9. I bought THIS and THIS years ago and they've been great. Good quality sliders on the drawers with easy quick releases - should you ever need to remove one. (…because 'you' over filled the draw below and the draw above wouldn't close and in trying to smash it closed you forced stuff down the back of all the other drawers).

  10. I have the halfords job, have been fine and had a replacment warranty if I smashed anything, so far no prolems but actually might buy a snap on sticker cos I'm a poser

  11. I bought these from Halfords a couple of years back and they have been spot on. As some on here have said, I watch out for sale items before buying from Halfords, luckily they seem to be the new SCS and always have a sale on. :) I added the side cabinets a short while after and everything is very sturdy and fits together well.

As for the tools, I've never had to use the Halfords 'Guarantee' which probably speaks volumes about the quality. :upyeah: For balance, I may have the odd Snap-On spanner knocking about the place, but don't own anything of theirs, so can't give an opinion.

  12. I was thinking of the 6 foot wide roller cabinet you have, I bought one last year but can't remember the make...

  13. Good point, if one ever wanted to resell them.
