1200 DVT Bluetooth Link

  1. I've just bought a 1200 enduro, and I'm wondering about how to operate the Bluetooth connection. I use a Sena headset to listen to stuff on my phone. I'm hoping by pairing my phone I can now control tracks etc too. But I see on the display that there are also icons for headsets too - do I also need to pair my headset, and what's the benefit to me doing that?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. The headset needs to be paired to the dash as well as the phone. The audio needs to pass though, the dash acts as a Bluetooth hub, it's not a remote for the phone that's independently connected to your Sena. I don't bother with the Ducati route on my 1260, don't listen to music much on the bike, only when on tour riding for long periods on the motorway. I connect through my Garmin instead as this also enables live weather radar (very useful), traffic (not so useful) and safety cameras alerts (occasionally useful) etc.

  3. Thank you!

  4. None , don’t bother , I linked my sena 20s to the bike, and yes you can change track back and forward and see track name but you can’t adjust volume and if you have an iPhone you loose Siri ability and speed dials.plus you can’t make calls whilst riding from the controls on the handlebars.

  5. I've never used Siri via the Sena (I have an SMH-5), so that won't bother me. Track forward and back will be mega handy on the move.

  6. Well you have to connect all to the Ducati multimedia and none between them so that the multimedia acts as a hub. The only problem is that not all Bluetooth can stream music through the Ducati multimedia system. It’s a trial and error thing as the Bluetooth version on the 1200 is 4.0. Tried various systems and finally ended up with a 30 euro in ear thingy. And yes you cannot make calls through the system. You can answer a call adjust volume on all devices you can play music skip songs but that’s about it.

  7. I'm wondering if my Sena isn't version 4.0, as I've so far failed to get it to pair. Would be annoying to have to upgrade my headset, although frankly it's probably rather overdue.

  8. Don’t get me wrong. It will work for phone and navigation. Just not with music.

  9. Turns out my rather ancient Sena headset is Bluetooth 3.0, so no-go there. I may upgrade it at some stage in the future. Bit of a shame, as I was particularly looking forward to this feature on my Multi.

  10. Try it out. You never know. It may work

  11. It's a pain in the a** and very flaky in operation, don't bother ! Just stick to Phone-GPS-Helmet instead.
