848 Access To Rear Shock Bottom Adjustment Screw

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Esbee, Feb 28, 2019.

  1. Greetings - Can anyone elaborate on how to access the rear shock bottom adjustment screw? The manual says through the hole in the swinging arm but it simply doesn't align! Any suspension gurus out there.....
Pre load set at 20mm and has standard ride height fitment i.e. non adjustable. Screw currently is approx 1cm lower than the hole in the swinging arm.....
(posted for a pal who I am about to take out ball end Allen keys to to see if this works).

  2. It is a rubbish design. On my 996/1098 hybrid I drilled anothher hole below and effectivly created a elongated access hole. Not sure everyone wants to do that but boy it makes it easy.

  4. I found adjustments are just possible with a long -ball ended Allen key, and a small l.e.d torch to see what you're doing.
Very frustrating as the access hole is definitely not in the right place.
