Just in case people don't look at the wanted section, I thought I'd post here, as I am looking at buying an 848 as a track project and develop it over the next few years. I was building a 1100 engine in a 1098 frame, but a bad back has made it unlikely that i'll finish in time for May 2019, and as an engine build will cost me £3K it just made more sense to get a running bike and use of all the trick chassis parts i've collected to improve it. Looking for the right bike as it will get a track fairing and have all the road gear removed, so a Cat C/D road bike, or a bike already set up for the track is the goal. As I have lots of bits, including a full rolling chassis I am leaning towards a road bike, ideally an Evo so there is less chance of the engine going bang. The good bits i've already got include: Ohlins 25mm fork inserts Kyle flat link Ohlins TXX shock revalved to match 30mm offset triples from a 1098 street fighter (in need of machining) M4 brembos Brembo front master cylinder I'm sorry to not be making my "dream bike" but thinking an 848 will be just fine! Looking forward to getting tinkering so if anyone has or knows of any good bikes.......
Sorted! I've bought an 848 Evo engine, loom, exhaust, cooling systems and intake from Moose and will soon have a complete track bike! Still recovering from spinal surgery in January so won't get a chance to repaint it but I've got the trackbike I was after! Looking forward forward to June when I'm "allowed" to ride it.
