Hi All Just a quick question .... I'm about to do the belts on the multi ... I'm used to doing 2V belts ... but the 4V Testastretta is new to me. I've got it all straight in my head apart from one thing. I see the tensioner is a three pin jobbie ... I'm wondering how you guys have got on with this ? ... I have a cycle spanner with two small pegs for adjusting something from the 50's on a pushbike I think this will do the job.. but would be interested in others experiences with this. I am of the opinion that I will need to apply some pressure to this to stop the spindle possibly slackening off when I slacken the fuji nut off. Cheers Gerry
Ok Thank you I've ground the old brookes cycle spanner a little now works fine.... and also knocked up some cam holding tools ..... please feel free to take the piss re the cam holding tools ..... As I'm waiting for my belts... I tried out the tools on the horiz cyl.... my belts are 5 years old but have only done 2500 miles (due to the bike being sat in a dealers ex demo hardly used at 800 miles)... I nipped up the horiz belt to 80Hz from its current 70hz to see how we go .... I have to say 80Hz feels enough for me if I was going to go on feel alone ! I'm know they are set to 110Hz new then I would guess they bed in as the in used tension is 80Hz.
Did you get the belts Thursday? Note: California Cycleworks belts should be set at 99Hz nominal and not 110Hz as OEM as stated on the packaging
