V4 V4r

  1. Well, mine has arrived and first obs are achingly beautiful but suspension is really stiff, I was of course expecting something like this but this will take some effort to dial in road compliance, the rear spring rate is 110 kgs which is quite a bit over the S rating but I am a very happy bunny at this time.

  3. Yeah 520 chain set and taller screen standard along with a wider fairing.
Dry clutch under the full cover which is there as oem to help with noise reduction

  4. Noise reduction? Fek that, let's see it and let's hear it! I'm going for the STM dry clutch conversion on my V4S such is my preference for the dry clutch :upyeah:

I'll go for the 520 chainset conversion when I've knackered the OE :):upyeah:Enjoy the R and give us feedback on that V4 screamer!

  5. One of the first things i'm doing is removing the clutch cover completely! (have the carbon half cover on order but its eta is end of April currently!)
Will report how it feels compared to the s! :)

  6. It'll be a different beast, I'm sure. Certainly no less fun though!

A word of warning though. Carbon fibre clutch covers are useless in a crash. Ask me how I know.....

  8. The R has wider fairings I noticed at JHP this afternoon. Quite a bit wider.

  9. I wish Ducati would just release a track focused special. Then there'd be no need for me to spend another >10k and filling my loft with OE shite.

  10. Ohh you lucky lucky person, mine could be sitting there at Snell Performance as well but I had to cancel the order due to the nasty taxman. I'm going to have to go and see yours whilst its having the exhaust done I reckon; what could go wrong?....

  11. Thats a mega stiff spring rate, no way you'll make it road friendly without reducing the rate. What do you weigh? if you're lighter than ~85kg then it's going to be ridiculous. I guess it's there because of the silly amount of power but you're unlikely to be really pushing it on the road so I suppose you can just treat it like an S and swap it back if you go on track?

  12. Any word on your Panigale? I am still on the lookout!

  13. My heart goes out to you, you poor man.... ;)

  14. It's not easy :sob:

  15. LOL LOL
I know how you feel putting loads of my stuff on FleaBay only problem cant even remember what bikes they come off lol lol.
Don't worry Ducati will be bringing out something special ive NOT taken my V4R for me just not special enough for me.
But those peeps who have got a V4 are having the ride of there life more than likely apart from the recalls which im sure will get sorted.
So lets get ready for Ducati to take our trousers down again with there super duper special lol.

  17. TBF I agree with you entirely, I have six bikes currently and am considering a Panigale in some shape or form, including the V4R. Looking at the picture above, I can see at least 5-7k I would need? to throw at it to get it looking and performing as I would wish. This is just money that will line the pockets of the aftermarket outfits and take time that I do not have (wednesday being office day). If they'd build a track special like the BM, it would make my life a lot more straightforward. Perhaps I should continue my hunt for a D16!

  18. My take is that you would only really need that much money if you wanted to race it. The stock bike is pretty extreme anyhow. I do wonder how snatchy the low down mapping is to make it road legal though as that is pretty horrible on my Panigale R and make it pretty unrideable if you turn the electronics off. Mega power kicks in mid revs and tries to launch you into orbit.

  19. My 1098R does that already, it is fun passing everyone else on the balance point of the back wheel though. My friends call it 'La Bombe'.

  20. Haha I like it. The Panigale stock and S models all float nicely at the balance point and are quite friendly and smooth to thrash around even without electronics. The R lifts the front to balance point but then kicks in a shed load more power at just the wrong moment. It would definitely benefit from a mapping so the electronics are not needed to take the edge off it. I only use the minimum but that amount is essential to make it useable.
