Discussion in 'Rideouts & Events' started by Pete1950, Jan 10, 2016.

  1. OK. The Pioneer Run starts from Epsom (Tattenham Corner) from 8 am onwards. The first riders are getting to The Chalet by 9.30, loads are passing by 10 to 11 am. The last stragglers are reaching Brighton (Madeira Drive) by 12 noon. Usually about 500 entrants.

  7. Floating down the A22 this morning and spotted eric clapton on his blower,a educated guess maybe talking to his accountant or Mr AA:thinkingface:,anyway turned the horse around and started chatting when he said there was a problem with the hub,but on further inspection it was just a metal tab on the mudguard rubbing on the rear tyre, grabbed the brut force and ignorance tool and good to go on his annual gig with a handshake:upyeah:

  12. http://sunbeam-mcc.co.uk/81st-pioneer-run-22-march-2020-2/

The Pioneer Run (for pre-1915 bikes) is due on Sunday 22 March 2020. Starts at Tattenham Corner Epsom at 8am, but nowadays ends at Brighton City Airport, Shoreham (instead of the Madeira Drive).

I'll probably ride down to the Chalet Cafe, on the A281 south of Cowfold. Weather permitting.

  17. But sadly the weather is miserable. Heavy rain all morning, so not much fun. Pity.

  19. Grim in Brighton at the moment. :(

  20. Well after cancelling with a friend at 8.00 this morning as it was lashing it down, i then decided to get upto Reigate junction as i was sitting in the van at the time and watch them go by as i was alert and ready for action, but ended up following them down to Leonardslee gardens, i must say it was worth the effort regardless of the rain watching one or two pedalling up hill in the pissing down rain.
Most riders had very wet gloves, around about 30 to 40 riders turnout on the day, all very happy by the looks of things.

I can't load any pictures at the moment as the camera lead's not tuning in for some odd reason with the P.C.
