Wsbk Marchesini Rear Wheel Coffee Table Commission

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by CodexMotorsport, Mar 24, 2019.

  1. Hey all,

Some of you may know me, i recently started up a company called Codex Motorsports, after much deliberation about a name.

I deal in WSBK Ducati parts mainly from the start of the Panigale era.

    Anyway,

I have some damaged wheels that are no use for riding any more, they have come direct from the chaz and melandri bikes from last year. They are not visibly damaged other than a scuff.

They are rear wheels and I'm considering making some coffee tables out of them or if someone has another idea, i'm sure i can do that too! I had considered a clock

The wheels themselves are very expensive but obviously no use to anyone anymore.

They will feature a glass top with the official number from either rider relative to the wheel.

I am considering auctioning them on the dreaded ebay, or seeing if there was any interest here before i start ordering the glass and figuring out how it will all work.

I have a figure id like to get in return for them which would be around £350-400

Ive attached a photo of the wheels the rear in this photo is from Davis bike

    Cheers Ben

  7. No problem. I’m going to enquire about glass tomorrow and probably use 2 wheel nuts to hold it on with a tapped shaft going through the spindle hole of the wheel.

  8. I did some with 1968 replica F1 wheels - new period tyres fitted too and the Glass just sits on the tyres - you need tyres  and disks  but would make them pricey unless you skimmed used discs...

  9. Any progress with this Ben as I would be very interested

  10. Hi mate.

Just waiting on the glass. If glass isn’t wanted I could use Perspex

I’m hoping to find some damaged rear axles to use to keep it all factory.

If not I’ll have to make some plates and spindles or it’s going to get too expensive.

I have 6 rears and 2 fronts available.

    Drop
    Me a message

    Cheers Ben

  11. Maybe a certificate of authenticity with the riders number, season year and even a signature if poss, would be a cool addition!
Oh...... I'm interested in seeing these once done!
    Nice one

  12. Number I can do.

Season is engraved on the wheels as they have a mileage limit.

Authenticity I can provide myself as this is my company.

As for a signature that may be tricky.

I will have the ready next week hopefully but there are a few options so
    Please message me if interested

    Cheers Ben
