British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. The Tory party isn’t going to survive this intact.

  3. Yep, Ms Moran is just getting ahead of the story there, so it doesn't bite her in the arse later.

Bugger how the publicity makes her partner feel. It's not as if his reputation would suffer.

Puzzling how few male abuse victims come forward, though *headscratch*

  4. That geezer who threw an egg at Corbin and shouted 'respect the vote' has just got a custodial sentence of 1 month - evidently as a warning to others who think the vote should be respected :joy:

  5. Makes you wonder why she wanted that cable

  6. May and the Government have now had control of Brexit taken away from them by a cross party vote.

  7. Control, is that what they had

Disgusting rabble of turncoats to their constituents - be proud :p

  8. Nope, they will now have indicative votes. As the hint is indicate, it means they will vote, like the no deal votes, are the mp's preferences on what happens next.

    Two points
The government is legally not obligated to act on a single one
As we have seen with these sillyness's, it works on the assumption the eu will do what the u.k. mp's demand.

  9. May hiding after yet another loss. Too embarassed to face the House? Another three junior ministers resign, even her old No.2 (the porno laptop guy Green) votes against her government.

Whatever happens on Wednesday won't be binding, but if concensus is found, May will not be able to deny the voice of the House in real terms.

I think Mays Deal just took a few steps closer to passing. The ERG may now be rattled that if they don't get some kind of Brexit agreed soon, there will be an even softer one (for want of a better term) or maybe none at all.

  10. Ergo, we are leaving with no deal. It’s the only conclusion and has been for months

  11. This really is just further bollocks from the HOC and MP'S isn't it.

The MSN outlets keep referring to them taking control, but they're not are they, they're voting on non binding polls to highlight if there's any majority.

Even if they do, which is extremely unlikely, then it doesn't have to be acted upon. It really does all seem a complete waste of time.

  13. I can’t see that happening. Too many politicians don’t want it.
    More likely revoking article 50.

  14. yip, but there are to many constituent's whipped up to a frenzy. Baa. Baa.

  15. It’s a possibility, but even I would see that as a humiliation and betrayal of democracy

  16. There seems a lot more talk about it on the radio etc.
I don’t think they care, as long as they get what they want. Ideally with someone else to blame.

About time politicians had a ‘knockdown’ of some kind, a pay cut on the grounds of their poor performance ?

  17. I dare say that you're made of better stock than them though.

I fear that most of the MP's wouldn't think twice about it
