V4 V4r - Tedious Questions

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Nervy, Apr 19, 2019.

  1. Hi All,

Could somebody tell me, please, what the running in schedule is for the V4R? (In terms of what revs for how many miles etc).

Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of what tail tidies and exhausts are available (and whether a new ECU/ lower fairing is required) I’d be really grateful. Hell, I have a Chomp here with your name on it if you can tell me all of the above. I know, I know- I’m much too good to you.

My sincerest apologies for the crushing dullness of this thread. If it helps, even I nodded off a couple of times writing it.

    Thanks in advance,
    N.

  2. If the misprint in the V4 owner's handbook reads across to the V4R, you are looking at 8000rpm for the first 600 miles and then 9000rpm for the next 1000 miles (if you can be arsed). Your dealer should have a technical note that should have been shared with the salesman.
For me, the Ducati carbon/steel short tail tidy is the neatest, shorter than OE but not ridiculously short like the R&G.
To my knowledge, the only currently commercially available "not for road use" exhaust or just replacement end cans for the V4R is the Akrapovic which requires a different set of lowers and a download from the Ducati dealer you bought the exhaust from to overwrite the ECU. The exhaust has gone up in price so is about £4600 and the lowers are about £200.
I'm sure that the Termignoni 4-Uscite will eventually fit the V4R but currently I don't think the V4 road system is actually shipping yet. Lots of other claims to have an exhaust for the V4 but the V4R is a slightly different mounting so it has to be a matter of time. Andy

  5. Thank you Andy. That’s terrific.

Just so that I’m certain I’m not being thick(er), are you saying that these along- with the lower fairing parts- would or wouldn’t fit the R?

Thank you again for your time/ your Chomp.

  6. Mr Nervy..
By implication, you appear to have announced your ownership of a V4R.

This is indeed great news however....where’s the frikkin pictures? With bins?

Shocking behaviour, you ought to know better.

  7. The link won't cut and paste on my phone but go to Ducati.com, from the drop down menu, click Equipment, click Accessories, click Panigale, filter V4R, filter Exhausts. It will tell you about the slipons which look like you need lowers. Andy

  8. No mate, just doing my bit for a forum chum. No point in being an Anorak if you can't bore people stupid and share stuff :joy: Andy
