Ducati Panigale Track Noise Levels Thread

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Monners, Jun 15, 2016.

  1. Right, Ive still not tested the baffles as I had to fit a rapidbike evo and a few other things got in the way. By way of information the AKRA baffles are - V-TUV138 & V-TUV138L part numbers. I got mine from www.performanceparts-ltd.com.

EDIT: Oh, btw theyre £72+ VAT. Each. yeah, I know.

  2. I believe these are JHP modded Akrapovic dB killers.
I’ll test them next month and see if I can get a noise reading with them..

also the Ducati numbers for the dB killers is -
    96480991A - DB RIGHT
    96481001A - DB LEFT

  4. has anyone recently done a Donny " quiet " day 98db drive by on a std v4.?...

  5. Hi folks,

    Looking for some up-to-date info.

Got a track evening at Snetterton tomorrow, noise limit 102db. Hoping to take my 959 with underbelly Akra slip ons on track for the first time.

I've seen 899s on track there before, but didn't note the exhaust set up.

Is there a snowball's chance it will be under and be allowed out? It's an hour's round trip, so I'm tempted to ride over during the day, and get measured - if it fails I can switch to my Street Triple :innocent: (but I'd rather avoid that, if someone here has the reading for that set-up)

  6. I can’t answer your question but I’d like to know what they test at if you go.

  7. What group are you in? fast group pace you will likely struggle but people are often ok in the lower groups. Make sure you have baffles.

  8. How'd it go?

  9. I went along to the Snetterton track evening (102db limit) on my other bike (Street Triple), but chatted to the noise test guy about Panigales.

He said that with the static test, they "fail miserably", but you should still take the bike to be noise tested, and they will give it a "noise passed" sticker to let you out on track, and there is no problem with drive-by... which is great news for next time.

  10. That sounds good news..

I wonder if my v4 with akra will be allowed on - i have inlet baffles that were ok at oulton park on ther ride by ?

I'm more concerned with a 2 day cadwell park date i have booked in july and getting pass the static 105db or them being kind and letting me out ..

  11. I told him mine was a 959 with Akras, but I think his answer was generic Panigale.

Speaking to the guy yesterday, he was very reasonable and helpful, and he seemed well aware of the issue of static vs. drive by.

I would suggest you call the track day organiser / track itself, and get reassurance, or risk it, based on what I was told at Snetterton. Make sure you have your baffles in though ;)

It would be good to update the first post in this thread with the info I was told - how do we do that, please?

  12. Some Euro info I've been acquired recently, in relation to taking my 1199 (termis with baffles) and my mates full akra RSV4rf out on track:

No Limits at Val de Vienne - very relaxed and saw no sound testing all weekend. Super track too, really technical.
No Limits Spa - was told not to bother with anything other than completely stock pipes.
EYBIS Magny - as per previous experience, we were warned about noise officially, but unofficially given the wink and sure enough no hassle at all during the two days on track
No Limits Dijon - I've done this previously with EYBIS and it was fine, but No Limits informed me that they have recently massively tightened up - no chance at all with our bikes.

    Hope this helps someone.

  13. I've done 2 days so far on my standard V4S:

Donington 108 day but obviously no testing anyway
Cadwell 105 day, noise tested at 102 apparently so no issues

Got Snetterton next Monday, then Cadwell in another couple of weeks so fingers crossed all will be ok!

  14. Mine has been fine with inlet baffles at Silverstone, Cadwell, snetts and donny - so happy

  15. What do you mean by inlet baffles?!

  16. Baffles that are placed at the inlet of the silencers
Checkout this thread all details are here

  17. Think you forgot the link mate.....!

  18. Yep very easy to fit.
Take of Akra silencers - put baffle in 60mm end crunched end first ;-) and then put silencer back on..
