I recently brought some after market rearsets for my 749s off ebay and this weekend managed to fit them. However I now believe it requires longer gear change linkage. I have contacted the seller but he does not have the linkage. Anyone have one or know where I can buy just the longer linkage? Preferring black?
Link rods are easy enough to obtain, but in black?......Probably easier to get one of these and spray it yourself.... Springfix Linkages - The UK suppliers of Linkage Bars and custom made linkages. AL
Did it come with a 'road shift' lever? If not, it might be a race shift in which case there won't be a link rod. Have a look at the gear lever, it should have tab with a hole to connect it to the link rod.
I need similar but for the 748s - Not able to check but isnt the linkage hollow on the 748? Seem to recall it has ball linkeage ends that screw into the hollow rod - I need a shorter version of this - I see that on the site above that it shows female rod-ends but also male rod-ends like I have - cant find any hollow threaded bar though?
The rear set is a road set, i believe, it does have the gear change on rear set and a bolt where the eyelet would attach. I can not see any markings on the rear sets to tell what they are. Arquebus, thanks for link, that should do the trick if i can not find the right one. I have attached a picture if anyone knows what type they are?? This is the other side but the only picture i have at the mo.
Might be able to use the current eyelets? if the same thread and size?? Will measure the length tonight and see if it will fit. What do you want for it??
There's two rods, one is 240mm and other is 265mm, the rod end next to it is of my 1098 and it screws in Drop me your address and I'll put the rods in the post mate, if they fit send me a fiver
I have just measured between the gearbox linkage and the rear sets in sort of the right position and I got 320mm. I think the longer of the two might work. Will PM you now.
I have just bought a set of rearsets for my MV and they look Identical. I believe they are made by PP racing which is a company in Lithuania or Romania. You have to deal with there UK importer Motoevolution. They are very good in my buying experience. PP racing do carry spares for there equipment they concentrate on supplying racers and race teams
