No pics yet as its still in the bike. Ive ordered a new rear shock (50th birthday prezzie) to myself...so the old one will be for sale very soon...i dont have a recent pic - only the last time the engine was out (about 9 months ago) but its still in the same condition - 400 quid including carriage to anywhere in the uk (apart from the usual places like IOM etc etc) - we'll have to talk carriage then...if i can find some pics ill add them to it.
I’ve a mad idea. I wonder if that would fit a 748/916? Does anyone know? Comfy, do you know the actual model no. of it please ?
Might do cos I've seen the 916 shock... If you can cover the postage your more than welcome to try...
Thanks @andyb, would you happen to know what the model number is for the Ohlins shock for the 748/916 series?
Assuming the internal valving was different if said person bought a shock (if it was me id get it serviced before it went on the bike) then the valving could be changed at that point,,,,
So, yes - no reason that cant be done. I had the shock on my 525 supermoto serviced and revalved to lower it.
If I measured my Showa shock correctly (it's off the bike at present) its 310mm eye to eye FYI, checking out the Ohlins web site, the correct shock for 748/916 is DU342 for monopostos and DU421 for bipostos, this will probably be to do with the spring being different for the extra weight of a pillion (not that anyone carries one). I can't even find the Hypermotard listed there
Mine should be arriving middle of next week....ill take it out and measure it then...assuming your interested of course...
And now the shock is out... Bump. If there's no takers I'll fire it in the bay and brace myself for a sea of lowball offers...
