Are they supposed to be this uncomfortable? Also everything sounds “boomy” Not been on the bike yet but first impressions not good

  2. What did you buy ? Andy

  3. £6 reusable Moldex plugs off eBay. Came recommended by a friend.

  4. Have had similar free with a new helmet from SportBikeShop, went in the bin.

Have used Howard Leight MAX for years, buy a box of 200 at a time and with my use this lasts for a few years as I use them for quite a few rides before replacing them. Cut the very tips off flat as I find that more comfortable.

Custom moulded plugs are good but your ears can change and they become less effective.

  7. I was a yellow foam user for years then tried the black christmas tree style with filters fitted and now wear custom moulded plugs which work very well for me. On Bumpkin’s point, I have been advised to have to get a new mould taken every 3 to 5 years. I’ve been wearing these for 2 years now and have had no issues so far. I have a second pair which I use when sleeping away from home or the neighbours get rowdy. Andy

  8. If you were going for "a smurf has flopped his cock out in my ear" look, then you've nailed it

  10. Did the same last year, but cost more than £85 o_O

Use them every day. Wouldn't ride without them. Brilliant and very comfy

  11. I have two pairs of custom earplugs, one with speakers in them for intercom use and one without both are all day, multi day comfortable and were a revelation after years of foam ones, which I got on with except on a multi day tours where I used to get sore uncomfortable ears after a couple of days use (even with fresh plugs each day)
    worth every penny :)

  12. There are many different types of disposable earplugs, what works for one may not work for another (me and my Mrs. Use different ones as the ones she like IMO are rubbish...).

  13. I just bought a box of these after your post.

Good - fit great, small cost, easy to fit in ear, cost, great noise reduction.

    Bad - I CANT HERE MY TWIN 50mm TERMI'S!

  14. Me too, just bought 200 loose ones for around £10, also have Earpiece xmas tree ones with three filters in the set (£20) as a emergency but even with the strongest filters in they don't reduce the noise level enough for me. They do come with a useful alloy storage tube which acts as a good key fob for my house keys

Andy the yellow foam ones are not that good compared to the soft foam Yellow and Pink Howard Leight ones which provide the highest attenuation level (-35db claimed) of the many I have tried over the years and they are also very cheap and disposable.

  15. If you require them to go in so far to deaden the sound, I'd chop off the front piece. And they really should have an air hole down center so that you can balance the ear-drum pressure.

  16. I get free custom molded plugs from work.

  17. No one likes a show off

  18. p.s. Can you get me some :kissing:

  19. Ultimate-ear do kits for self-molding. Which you can use to get there most expensive sound ear pro3 kit.

  20. Have a look at Lucy Dell (https://sites.google.com/site/earplugsbypost/home) - they do a test pack of 20 different foam plugs to try. I use the green Maxlite, work for me!
