Ducati Factory And Museum

Discussion in 'Touring' started by Alan Murphy, May 22, 2019.

  1. Hi guys,
I’m heading off on my Multistrada for a 2 month tour taking in about 10 countries - Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, (ferry across to Italy) Spain.
I’ve done short tours before so have some experience so because of the length of time I have I have some idea where I’m going but will plan as I go so any route advice would be welcomed
I’m considering going to the Ducati factory and museum- is it worth the €30 entry and do forum subscribers get a discount??? (I bought my bike used so don’t have a card)
    Cheers

  2. 30 Euros? When did that happen??? Last time I went it was about 5.

If you're interested in the brand and the history it's really good, it's not the biggest of tours, you get to see the assembly lines, but the museum is really good full of iconic race bikes.

  3. Take the red credit card sized card you got with bike .I took an owners club card which didn’t help but was told by cashier it was the red card they were after.

  4. Great selection of countries (visited them all) and still love the black gold that can be found in Austria & Slovenia. Remember to get your swiss/austrian/slovenian vignette for the motorways.

  5. Join one of the owners clubs and it's free!
It's cheaper to join one of the official clubs and go, than it is to pay the normal rate. Plus you get all the extra club goodies :)

  6. Lucky you, 2 months:upyeah:. Do keep us informed how it goes on here.

Re entrance to the Ducati factory & museum. I went in January and don't have a Ducati Card (they hadn't invented them when I bought my 748 back in '99) but I showed them loads of pictures of my bike on my phone and they let me have a 50% discount off the entrance price, €15 from €30 iirc:). However, SWMBO didn't have any pictures of a Ducati on her phone so she was charged full whack:( and to add insult to injury was bored rigid on the factory tour. I think she fell asleep at the first stop, the glass case with the cut away Panigale engine:tired_face::tired_face:. Me? I loved it:D

  7. Thanks for the tips mun, I’ll sort it out on the day I guess - so much info.
I’ll be in touch over the winter when I start the rebuild on the 916

  8. Or as someone said above pay £25 to join DOCGB and then get in for free, plus all the other benefits being a member brings.

  9. I’ll be there a week tomorrow :)

  10. Might see you there then as that is the day we are planning to rock up. Continuous tours from 9:30 until 16:00, alternating languages. Andy
