  13. Ask for pression (press e on) it’s french bar speak for draft from the tap. It’ll be a damn sight cheaper than that.

  14. That was their impression of pression. .it's a cruel world...
That said I went up the road after and had a Large glass of red for €2.15 ..
And the barman bought me one on the strength that I'm a kiwi... I like this town..

  16. If you're there for a few days and want a ride out then put the following as a route into your SatNav:
Bormes les Mimosas, via D14 to
    Collobrieres, via D14 to
    Grimaud, via D558 to
    Cogolin, via D98 to
    La Mole, Via D27 to
Rayol Canadol sur Mer, Via D559 to
    Le Lavandou.

You'll have done the last leg today along the coast, well part of it anyway, the rest is inland via twisties in a clockwise direction.

Grimaud used to be a principality like Monaco, until the Prince sold out completely to the Frenchies.

If you've time, take a detour out to St.Tropez, have a drink/lunch in one of the many bars overlooking the marina and the mega yachts and see what they charge for a beer there! If you do then take the D93 back to Croix La Valmar rather than go back the way you came in. In Croix La Valmar you'll pick up the D559 coast road again back to Le Lavandou.

I'm estimating 100km not including St.Trop and 125Km including St. Trop. A nice easy ride out either way:upyeah:

  17. oops, meant to say, don't go any further west along the coast than you are now. Hyere's a dump, Toulon's a dump, Marseille's a dump (as someone said above, like Liverpool - but hotter). It's not nice again until you get to Arles and the Camargue. Better off heading inland, north.
