Reproducing The Early Brembo Carriers In The Uk

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Bridgland, Jun 5, 2019.

  1. All - in the process of getting some of these remade in tougher 7075 aluminium than the originals. These were the style fitted as full floating discs on the 888 SP4, 5 and 900SL and early 916s (others too I am told). These are for 320mm discs and have a 10mm offset. The image from one of the Ducati forum threads on these shows the rotational damage that happens over time on the original carriers. Obviously I have explored the cost of a single set, vs a batch and as you can imagine, I can get a better deal with more made. I have a price of £400 per pair (£200 each) and wondered if anyone would like to join in.

There was a firm in NZ doing them about 3 years ago for £175 each plus shipping and import duty, so this doesn’t seem like the price is out of line at all, in fact with import duties, and international shipping it would come to more.

I would need to get 9 other sets committed to hit the target price, otherwise they are going to be £480 for a pair.

Thought I would try the Ducati Forum to see if we can get a "group buy" sorted.

    Chris

  2. I'm after carriers too, but the 10 bobbin versions as I have these discs and no carrier to fit them on to :(

  3. I have both 10 bobbin and 12 bobbin disks. I plan on getting both versions done so will be the 12 and 10 bobbin version with a 10mm offset.

  4. I'm interested get me a price please :)

  5. I have 3 pairs of cast discs with worn carriers in my garage, so may be interested in this. I will have to measure the disc thickness to ensure they are still within service limits when I get back from the IOM next week.
The recess on the carrier for the heads of the 6 mounting bolts were not present on the carriers for the steel discs currently fitted to my bike so you will have to spec. them on your production run, otherwise the bolt heads will foul on the speedo drive, or use replacement dome head bolts if this is an option for reducing costs.

  6. Thread moved

  7. the recess is already built into the design. Also let me know if yours are 10 or 12 bobbins discs.

  8. Have now located my discs and all 6 have plenty of life left in them.
However, I do not currently have the funds to commit to ordering any new centres.
    Apologies for my late reply.
