Not Happy !!!!

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Bobbingbuoy, Jun 11, 2019.

  1. Hi all , can anybody give me some advice please ? I’d like to know who I write a letter of complaint to in the uk. My 10 month old 959 broke down and was recovered by Ducati assist and taken to Manchester Ducati ( this is the second repair it’s had in 10 months !) they have had it a month this week ( for a simple gear selector cog repair ) they have now told me it’s repaired so I’ve just phoned Ducati assist to collect it and bring it back to me ......they have just informed me that DA don’t provide this service and I would have to collect the bike myself ??? What sort of breakdown recovery is this ?? What if I was in Europe , would they expect me ( after having to wait a month ) to go to Europe to collect my bike ? It’s an absolute joke having to wait a month then having to get my own bike ! Can anybody give me an email address and/or number please ?

    Thanks

He will help you out, his customer care is legendary, say hi from me .......

In all fairness though, expecting a breakdown recovery service to return your bike is a bit rich .... I've never heard of it, just ask the dealer to bring it back, they'll do that for not a lot and the heartache of moaning at DUK aint really worth it .....

  3. yip. just ask the dealer. DG offerd to run mine the 100mls home.

  4. Thanks for the reply. Tbh I don’t think it’s a bit rich ? This bike is the most expensive thing I’ve ever purchased and has already been in for repairs twice in 10 months ( actually only ridden for around 3 months !) and it’s only done 1000 miles. I didn’t expect to be bikeless for a month for a simple part , which seems to be a common failure on panigale’s ? Like in my original post it doesn’t exactly give me confidence for my upcoming Europe trip on the bike, having done almost 40k miles on my previous Honda and Kawasaki and not having a single issue on either ?

  5. It will be fine, but I'm not aware of any recovery service that repatriates the bike back to the owner, thats just how they work.

As for reliability, should be fine, I have a 996 with c50k miles on it and have put probably close to 100k mile on various Dukes over the last ten years and broken down once ... don't let it spoil the experience ..... you have a great bike and any bike can have the odd glitch ...

  6. Welcome aboard Rob :)

  10. Whats with all the negativity in here ???

  11. I complained to Nestle last week about a box of bloom affected "Black Magic" chocs.

The cheeky bastrds sent me a cheque for a tenner, which I've now got to take to a branch of my bank, pay it in, and then go to some godforsaken supermarket to buy some more.

My heart goes out to you, but I know how you feel......

  13. Welcome Bob, did you ask Ducati Manchester, they may be able to add the delivery to the warranty repair

  14. A friend of mine bought a masarati a few years back. It was in the shop for about 6 months of the first year trying to get brakes and air con sorted.

Hope that makes you feel better.

  15. Recovery company can’t bring it back. Thy need a special licence to move non-immobile vehicles.
Most don’t, as it’s hassle in a whole load of ways!!

Btw if you broke down abroad and they fixed it, they would need a special recovery but most request (insist) they fly you over to collect. Cheaper and again less hassle: damage in transit from Europe is fairly common

  16. I have had 10 Ducati’s and only ever had one issue, my 996 sps not turning over, it was a faulty rectifier or something.
People take the piss if you say you have Ducati, as though they don’t expect it to be reliable.
They are like any other make in that you are bound to get the odd few that has issues.

  18. Do you mean the police would not deliver you back to your owner after you had been repaired ? What happened, did your owner come to collect you or have you been abandoned ?
