Strange Rhyme...A lot of the time...

  1. Having recently been to see the lyrical genius, master showman, and living legend that is John Otway, I was listening to his album "Ot Air" on the old MP3 thingy. I am willing to be corrected here, but I reckon he is the only person in the history of music to use the word "hyperventilate" to rhyme with "circumnavigate"... Does anyone else know of unique rhymes ?

  6. I believe genesis used the phrase, "Harold the barrel cut off his toes and served them all for tea" not sure of the rhyming qualities of that ...

    but perhaps, most fondly: "he's getting very old now, but he's a good mouse, I don't know why I call him Gerald?" along with the perennial "I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like, it's got a basket and bell, that rings and dings to make it look good" Sid Barrett

  16. @ Mr R - Saw him in The Pally in Bideford a few weeks ago. Have seen him lots of times in lots of places - have been a fan since I first heard "Headbutts" over 30 years ago. The man is an absolute star ! "Beware of the flowers, 'cause I'm sure they're gonna get you... Yeah !"
