My 2000 748r Build Reloaded

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Dremmel, Jun 19, 2019.

  1. After the fire from a split fuel line that fried the RHS of this build including the wiring and all fuel connector items as well the airbox. It was such a depressing mess that I had to take a break from working on it and hoped that my motivation would return at some point.

2 months down the track the electrics are fixed and all except one part of the fuelling. I went from head to tail hand detailing every part as well of course as installing some highlights .

The airbox was miraculously reinvented by my painter and at last I can see the bike coming together. The fairings will return soon all done in the original scheme except for the tail where I have opted for pearl white instead of straight white. The seat has been covered in Alcantara, wheels powdercoated gloss back with a silver spec and clad in Supercorsa V3's. Timing covrs and Ducabike rearsets (not pictured) landed today.

Hopefully the photo's will do some justice to the number of nights put in.

  2. Have you had the forks out? they are too far through the yolks, causing the front to ride higher than you would expect as standard, fine if you are aware! Other than the grips (not my personal taste at all) it looks great

  3. I am aware. The bike is in "mock up" mode - I have new rotors for the front and there are leaks from one fork seal ... ie. nothing is done up properly because it's all coming apart again.

  4. It’s looking good @Dremmel, coming along nicely, especially considering this is after the fire. Keep up the good work:upyeah:
