Dvt Skyhook Setup

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by BigAlan, Jun 19, 2019.

  1. Does anybody know someone who I can take my 1200 Multistrada to who knows how to get the best out of the Skyhook suspension?

Preferably around the Oxfordshire area but I can get elsewhere.

Scalloping the front tyre indicates whatever I have is incorrect.

    Thanks.

  2. Have you not adjusted the front fork stiffness? And it depends how heavy you are & how you ride.

  3. I have, but want a specialist to guide me through to a proper setup.

  4. IME you'd be wasting your money, unless you track someone down who understand how it actually works.

Be better putting your weight up on the forum and asking anyone for recommendations as to preload and the electronic setting then go from there

    :)

  5. If you don’t find someone local, set the sag as you would a non -skyhook , using a tape measure
Im assuming manual preload on the front only -
Then adjust comp and rebound damping by feel / behaviour , but using the buttons instead of turns of a screwdriver
There’s no more to skyhook (that can be setup) compared to analogue setup . The funky stuff is digitally adjusted , but from the base setting

  6. Did anyone find a suitable person/company as I’m looking to have mine done

  7. I’ve studied the default skyhook settings from y MY2019 Multi 950 s.

Have concluded that the damping settings are set to the same values for all for riding modes.
The front preload is only manually adjustable.
The rear preload sees a considerable variation in setting between the different riding modes.

    This strikes me as odd.
The preload is related to sag and with that to ride height. Not with hardness of the suspension.
I would have expected similar preload values for the different modes. Only varying with load (pillion or luggage). I could have understood a higher ride height for Enduro but not the differences between touring and sport.
Likewise I would have expected variation in damping to realize a harder ride in sport and a softer in Urban with Touring in between.

How does this compare with the default for the other Skyhook bikes like the 1260?

My experience is only with the 1200 my 2010 which was different altogether.
