Scramblers ....

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Dibble, Jul 8, 2019.

  1. .. are they just a way for poor people to gain access to the Ducati Brand ?

  2. That and also a way to keep employment higher in Thailand.....oh and shorter beardy 'on trend' :)

  3. Apart from El T as he is wadded

  4. Tis the VAG model, have premium brand to aspire to for all Skoda drivers ;)

  5. Building a motorcycle to a budget certainly opens up the customer base but is that the only reason you would introduce a particular style of bike ? I’m not so sure. I have my Multistrada but Carole’s Diavel is not the sort of bike you’d want to scratch round tight country lanes or do a bit of soft roading on so her Icon is an ideal 2nd bike and absolutely the bike for her IAMRS observing. I know the Scrambler is associated with a dubious lifestyle reputation but it is a hoot to ride. Andy

  7. Controversial

Oh, and I like them. The original Urban Enduro and later Desert Sled in particular. :upyeah:

  8. The Scrambler 1100 - is more than many Ducati base models... cheaper than Monsters and Hypermotards and SS base models

Not sure what people have against them they are great bikes both the 800 and 1100.

After all its the same engine used in many Ducati models a few years ago and designed and in Europe - built in same factory... its just a Ducati with a different label on the tank... but the same label and parts every where else.

My 1100 has become my main bike since my Multi was totalled after being rear ended.

Sure its not a 150mph bike - but still a hoot to ride....

  10. You have remember that the monster was their bike for the masses in the 90s.

I like the desert sled, though I'd have to ride it off road, so poinless in Scotland.
