I have an ongoing project (Monster S4 morphed into a bastard 916/Pani streetfighter) and I want to do an engine transplant in the near future. I have fitted a 1098 and 999 engines (not at same time) to a S4. Due to changing plans, the project was never completed. With the 999 set up you can move the diag cross brace to fit under the 999 airbox. The front inner frame brace can also be altered.You can also fit the battery and ecu on top of the airbox. With a 1198 you have to remove both braces to fit the throttle bodies and airbox. These also sit higher in the frame and may cause tank clearance issues, that may have to be addressed. I know you have 916 tank. A 1098 etc swingarm can be used on either engine, along with 1098 dash/ECU and loom. Having put a 1098RS engine in a 748 frame, I would look at putting braces in where practical.
