Bits needed for 1994 ss bike

  1. Im not going racing, its going to be for the road so a speedo will be needed. I was thinking about going abit more modern for the clocks and getting a digital.

  2. The forks if standard OEM should be fully adjustable Showas.......

....there will be an adjuster (for a screwdriver) on the lower rear part of the fork leg and one right on top of the fork leg....plus it will have a preload adjuster at the top as well (nut shaped bit just below the adjuster)

  3. Theres always a third option; I ignore 'I'm better than yeou' posts ;-)

  4. Having a problem with pics tonight but both seemed to be stamped 94.

Sizes are from the axle leading in from the right (manual diagram) so first aperture 25mm right leg leading onto 20mm left leg and 17mm thread on left leg

  5. Reading your posts 13 & 15 in this thread, it appears they were an attempt to 'be better than.......'; with information you then appear to admit was incorrect..........So it's a pity you didn't ignore the topic (or my post) in the first place.

  6. If you look hard at the left leg you will probably see that it is a 17mm threaded insert....(what I call a boss and what MrR calls a tophat) if you slacken the two fork leg pinch bolts off, you should be able to withdraw the insert.....if you can, the smaller O/D of the top hat should be 25mm.

Until I see the forks I can't be certain, but if it is a top hat with a 17mm thread it seems you need the larger 20mm axle.....and the larger speedo drive......so you need to check your wheel at the speedo drive side of the hub.

  7. I have sent Duke em up an axle to trila. If it dont fit it the other type. Simples me dears. Oh and a threaded insert ia a threaded insert in any language.

  8. Pmsl I know nothing, so can certainly say (in my best brummy accent) 'I know nothing considerably better than yeaou' ;-)

  9. Yeaou takin the piss yeaou!

  10. F-me.......It's Jim Baines....(From Crossroads).........I thought you were dead, Jim.....

....and yes, you are probably right with that statement if you work out what you actually said.....

What a pity you have to resort to insults as well.........created bad feeling and nearly spoiled a good friendship......:upyeah:

  11. gonna try to get a picture off them.
yes the jetting could be changed,i bought a dyno jet kit for it.

  14. I just need the engine support bolts and i will be able to move the chasis around.

Getting the engine started will be a very very happy day, so help with carbs would be great.

Except Cranker of course...he means it! Pmsl

  18. please all stay friends...............i need all the help i can get!

I just got the axle with no spacer, perhaps that was of the front wheel.

Went straight in and fitted the thread.

My laptop isnt picking up my camera memory card at the mo so cant get the pics up.

Im really chuffed with the progress, i may of been abit early in celebration, i think i need to add a few more parts to the list.

The spacer was not a spacer in fact. It was the remnants of the speed drive.................... As I dont use cable driven speedos on my race bike I hit the drive with a hammer until all the useless bits are detroyed. Leaving a nice steel spacer.
