V4 V4 Anniversario Q/s Software

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Android853sp, Jul 17, 2019.

  1. I had the opportunity to ask if the v2 quick shifter software used on the Anniversario would be available as an upgrade for the earlier version. I was told that whilst not immediately, the answer is yes. Obviously I expect it won’t be free but if it’s the improvement it’s made out to be, I’m in the queue. Andy

  2. What will the improvements be? I guess I've been lucky with my QS as it hasn't missed a beat (kiss of death!!)

  3. If you are to believe the blurb, "optimised for more aggressive shift". Andy

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  4. Why wouldn’t it be free?

  5. More to the point why wasn’t it on there to begin with?

  6. Because it’s not an update for existing base and S models, it’s being marketed as an upgrade package, bundled with the DTC Evo 2, for track use only and provides options for slick tyres. Andy

  8. I'll ask @nelly about this wizardry when I see him ;)

Slick tyres are all my bike will ever have whilst I own it :):upyeah:

  9. I just can’t stop myself, the software is being installed on my bike next Tuesday when it’s in for the clutch conversion :D Andy

  10. What does that mean in our language?

  11. Shortened ignition cut

  12. BMW would be free. Just saying ;)

And a 35k bike built for track doesn’t have a setting for slicks?! Ouch!

  13. Of course it does. It's just that software is in a constant state of evolution. To say that the V2 software upgrade is associated with 'slick' mode is just marketing blurb ;)

  14. Exactly. So should be free if in warranty or if being serviced :upyeah:

  15. You're right. And I'll be surprised (but not staggered) if I have to pay for it. I recently had a PDK software update on my 911 and that was FOC.

  16. I know a few people were being charged silly money to have ‘Hill Hold Control’ activated on earlier GS models. Later TE models have it as standard I believe.

  17. Don’t know the full details on what it actually does, but the evo 2 is a performance SW update and not free. I’m in holiday mode at the moment so no idea what the tech blurb says as to what it does and doesn’t do. I’ll have a look next week

  18. See you Monday about 11am - now get back to your holiday!!!

  19. Nice link, thanks Andy. How much is the Evo2 software upgrade? I'm starting to feel all Casey Stoner after reading that. What could possibly go wrong??:sob:
