Glove Suggestions Please

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Oly, Jul 18, 2019.

  1. Another Handroid user here ... Rukka for wet weather , can’t remember the model , but sounds like dinosaur .. Furygan TD21 and 12 for warm commutes

  2. If I was going to buy one handroid for all round use which should I get? There are a few on sports bike shop. Please share a link.

  3. My 'touring' gloves for the last few years were made by Held.
I recently got a new pair of Ducati Strada C4 which are also made by Held; I had a couple of vouchers from Ducati which reduced the price considerably, but they are nice gloves and I probably would have bought them anyway.

  4. Usually wear my Rukka Virium to tour at that time of year. Thin and waterproof.. loads of feel and gore tex also. Brilliant all round spring, summer, autumn glove in my eyes.

  5. +1 for the Ducati branded Held, Gortex laminated C4. I had a pair replaced under warranty because the thumb lining became delaminated after nearly 2 years. They now come with a 5 year warranty. Excellent glove. Andy

  6. I’d buy two if I were you :)

  10. Hands off Dubcat!

  11. Hand

  12. :fist:

  13. Both my gloves are Dainese, waterproof winter ones and vented short summer types.
I always take both if touring, nothing worse than being caught out.

  14. So many variables to consider0like hand width and length of fingers but I started with Held Samba Gloves for the summer and they offer a quality fit and finish (they stretch out so it should fit snug at first) https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/held-sambia-gloves

After seeing a few accidents and the outcome of the gloves after the crash, I have started using my track gloves all the time. I absolutely love the Racer gloves. They fit amazing from day one - no breaking in required - and even in warm weather feel comfortable especially in white. https://www.racerglovesusa.com/collections/motorcycle-racing-gloves/products/high-speed-glove Its a very good gloves at a sound price point. I tried the Handroid but it had to many parts for me especially if i had to tour all day - great glove though

This is a great site and company that reviews several brands: https://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/motorcycle-sport-and-race-glove-buyers-guide/

When I tour I always bring along my Klim Vanguard Gortex Gloves and I they have held up great in the rain. They are also a great compromise between warm and cold weather riding (50 to 90 degrees). I use these in the fall in the morning and later switch when it warms up. https://www.klim.com/Vanguard-GTX-Short-Glove-3922-000?quantity=1&color=9

    Good luck

  15. \zI would agree with Blade. If on a tour the Held Air and Dry is the only glove you will need. Its waterproof in the goretex section and lets plenty of air thru the non-waterproof part. Brilliant gloves but try a pair larger than your normal size. They do come up small.

  16. Held Phantom - gortex versions, crashed in them twice , used them in all weathers and are still brilliant. Bit hot possibly for hot conditions, but also have a pair of Held Chikara RR for hot weather which are nicely vented but more importantly are still well armoured...just in case!

  17. I find my Knox Handroids are excellent for summer use, including long tours. The only problem is that the fingers are a little short for mine, and can feel a bit tight. I bought the largest size available, obviously.

  18. Ducati branded Tour C3...made by Rev It.

I genuinely have freakishly long thumbs (can’t wear dainese gloves at all), and these fit well from the start and have got better over time - have been waterproof through multiple wet commutes and have got a sensibly quick fastening system.

  19. Just caught this thread but haven't read all or it. If it's not already been said, the blue latex gloves and some ky jelly ( I prefer to call it , ok, why? Jelly) are a good shout...
