Just thought I’d post up a few pics of my mk 3 focus Rs I’ve been looking for a few months, hoping to find a mint low mileage privately owned example Previous owner was more anal than me ! ( and that’s saying something ) heated garage, car had never seen rain etc March 2017, 2600 miles, all options, except the shell seats, completely stock car, in two weeks I’ve fitted a mountune induction kit & recirculating valve, exhaust valve delete, rally armour mud flaps, & its now running a dream science imap ( around 390 bhp ) ...sensible power upgrade , considering it has standard engine internals...for now...
Congratulations. It's always nice when you get what you want after a search. 390bhp. I bet they can shift.
I've got the Recaro shell seat option in my car (Non Ford). They were a £1,300 option I believe but are a pain in the backside when you wnt to pop down the shops for a pint of milk. There is no dignified way of getting out of them. I'm still glad I went for them though as I'm shallow and all about form over practicality. They are really comfy when you are in them though.
Nice car, My son got his 67 plate just over a year ago with 1800miles on it and the only extra missing was the door guards, the Recaro seats are more comfy then i thought they would be and what a great car for the money you cant beat it for the money, was it a private sale or over your way RS Direct? Mountune's garage is 20mins away from me they have an open day once/twice a year, who fitted your kit. Do you notice a big difference in the car after the tune up kit.
I’m only 20 minutes away from Rs direct, I was keeping an eye on his stock, my good friend bought a 16 plate nitrous blue mountune 375 from Adrian ( the owner ) a month or so ago, I was chatting to the owner, he said he can afford to push the prices up & he certainly is ! ..although in fairness he does manage to source some very good quality stock I bought mine private sale from camberley, I bought the mountune induction kit 2nd hand from an rs Facebook page & the mountune recirc valve from mountune I fitted the above myself, I was in the garage trade 18 years, the difference with the imap fitted is absolute night & day ! From stock 345bhp to proven figures of 390, the car is now honestly very quick Reading the forums etc, there are many mountune 375 owners who are buying the dream science imap handset & ditching the 375 map ! ( the 375 map can be saved to the handset, & reset to the car if desired ) To be honest In stock form the mk3 rs is pretty tame There are owners out there running over 400bhp with the stock engine internals, but definitely not advisable!
He got his from Ford in Peterborough, we were at Brands hatch BSB when he was on the phone to them leaving a deposit and had to phone them between races two days later it was his, i live is 2 mins from Ford Research centre which has a dealership next to it so we did the right thing and took one then two then three out for a good test ride , there is plenty of RS's around here being Essex Rs Direct are getting like the Sheffield bike dealers, setting the price's.
Regarding Rs direct being like certain bike dealers, I’d say you are spot on ! Is your lads car stock, engine wise ?
