  3. Here's a pic of the desmo.

In the novice group I'm surprised more instructors weren't showing the lines to take. I only saw it happen once or twice throughout the day.

  4. Thanks for the input. You're right they are SPs. What are the pressures I should've been running? I set them to 25 cold and they were about 30 when i came at the end of the sessions.

I normally use the same pressures at Donington without this issue. If silverstone is more abrasive would it make this issue worse?

  5. Rear? 24 HOT IME. Maybe 26 tops.

  6. No worries. They want to be around 25-26psi hot. Yep a more abrasive circuit can make a difference but dropping the pressure would’ve stopped it. Silverstone is a faster track than Donington, really long straights fast corners which you would’ve been driving really hard out of , all of which heats and wears the tyres. Donington is a different beast for tyre wear as you’re on the edge of the tyres a lot more, shorter straights etc

  7. My gixer 1000 used to do exactly the same. No TC so it just grips or spins. Ruined plenty of rear Pirelli’s, and will use V02s if/when I get another big power bike for track!

  8. Cheers fella
Yep digital tyre warmers but set at 80 as didn’t know that v02 temps are lower
Used v02 softs for early donny days and snetts and no issues at all with exactly the same setup
Used sc1/2 scrubs at Cadwell 2 dayer again no issues at all - smooth as a babies bum
Silverstone using v02 mediums - nightmare !! Rear is clean but the front was well torn up
Spoke to Dave Croft from MUPO and basically it’s the new surface - tried a few changes but I think it was to far gone to clean up
But I will try the lower temp settings

  9. The bike is running MUPO suspension and am running 190mm from seal to bottom yoke, same as tri-options cup
Had no issues in last 5 trackdays running same setup at Donny/snetts or Cadwell

  10. I’m running mupo k911 front suspension with the 130mm of travel but found the 190 fork to seal was too high at the front for me. I’m set to 170 fork to seal at present with the rear at standard height. Completely changed the bike for me as before it just wouldn’t hold a line. Best modification you can make in my opinion is to change out the standard suspension.

  11. Had no tyre problems. Pirelli Supercorsa Diablo SC v3, SC1, using Pirelli's tyre pressure chart from their web site, I ran 28 psi rear, 32 psi front hot. Silverstone has a lot of fast and early on the power right handers so the right hand side of the tyre takes a beating. Andy

  12. Yeah they look spot on. The 60 profile rear wants a couple of extra psi in comparison to the 55. I found that out the hard way (burning a rear in a day much like Spuds v02 front) last year when none of the track support guys knew what the v3s needed to be ran at.

  13. My second outing at Silverstone although the first was about 10 years ago so I didn't have a clue which way the track went... fuckin loved it!

Apart from a tight right hander before an immediate left, where I kept running wide, does anyone else struggle with this turn? (Apologies for the noob description)

  15. Good day, great to catch-up with everyone.

Organisation was not the best but still a good event. Track temps weren’t doing wonders for tyres but some good advice helped to reduce the tare for some quicker laps in the final two sessions of the day.

Here is to the next years :upyeah::motorcycleduc:

  17. Thanks again guys! Woah 25ish hot seems scary low! Not gone that low before! I'll give it a go next time I'm out there though!

  18. The tyre is soft so meant to flex. Check out some of the BSB bits on theirs: Pirelli have to keep telling them to add pressure!!

  19. BSB 1.65 bar limit. ;)
