  8. Yep, but now as then, it is a rich mans game to own and fly a plane. Can't see this levelling out to be affordable for all, plus it will need to be taxed.
At least the govts of the world aren't concerned about polluting the air with flying craft, only cars at this stage...

  9. Those little jet engines are not THAT expensive compared to a plane... and this doesn’t need a runway etc. The barrier to entry is not that high for this.

  10. It sure will be once it has been approved for general population use. If it ever gets that far...

  11. I don’t think it ever will be .. but you can buy those jet engines already. You have been able to buy them for several years. I’ve got friends who have them for use on radio control planes.

  12. I think the bigger application will be troop movements - think of the Seal teams and SAS - the advantages they gain with something like this ..... can see why the Military gave a grant..

20 years time - after China has copied and made it cheaper - you can all have one...

  13. Wow that looks great. Surely electric is the way to go in this day and age.

We’ve all seen the 4 fan remote control drones. They just need increasing in size to take a human.
You’d think Ford or Tesla or some such would be developing something on those lines. I have seen a couple of small scale attempts at it. It can’t be that far away.

  14. Dyson is the guy with the super high speed motors...

But I think you need big blades to generate the lift..

This is what’s needed, only bigger.
Big enough to carry a human and perhaps some luggage and off we go on tour. Bye bye Ryanair.
