I'm looking for a replacement clutch for my Ducati 1000S Ds as the basket is a little notched. I'm sure that this bike uses the same clutch as many other Ducati models, but I don't know enough about them to be more specific. Would welcome any advice as to where I might get one from, and would be helpful to me to know what other models use the same clutch as mine. Not interested in a slipper clutch or anything other than the basic clutch. Hoping someone might have a good second hand clutch for sale or point me in a direction where I might look. cheers.
Got a basket....not sure what you would class as well used or not....ill take some pics when i get home...
Got a box of spares in the garage... I'll have to get them out but I'm pretty sure I've got the oem pressure plate and the 2 inner drums... Heres a pic of the outer..
@comfysofa Many thanks for looking and the photos. It's difficult for me to make out the condition of your basket, it does look similar to mine. The reason I am after a replacement clutch is it sometimes snatches on take off which I reasoned was down to 'notching' on the basket. Let me know if you think yours is in serviceable condition please.
Well, its nowhere near as bad as ive seen but TBH its all down to what people perceive as "worn" as it were so i cant really say....
Hmmm the only thing i can say is that i bought a new basket keeping it ready for when it needed to be changed....the only reason i put a new basket in was because i got the slipper clutch and thought "replace the lot" while im in there....from an engagement point of view it didnt feel any different (once the slipper with the new basket was in) but, as i say thats my perception...
@comfysofa As you say, it's down to perception what is considered worn! If you have any interest in selling the basket, and possibly the inner drum and plates, please do let me know what you want for it. Maybe PM me. Thanks.
Happily - ive no idea how much it all costs... the plates ive used...(had to as they never came in the slipper clutch) so, ive got the 2 inner sections and the pressure plate (the oem one)
