An Exclusive Ducati E-mtb Ready For Its Debut At Eicma 2018

  1. I would recommend a 29er, seriously impressed with my YT Jeffsy, it’s a bullet downhill and pedals well. I’m liking Orbea, Whyte and Mondraker at the moment. Like motorcycles, you can’t really buy a bad bike these days!

  2. Ain't nobody care about no electric mountain bicycle.

  3. Ducati have been leveraging strategic partners like this, for bicycles, for ten years. It's the usual lifestyle tat. Funnily enough, Aprilia made electric-assist mountain bikes fifteen years ago - the Enjoy. Not quite the downhill monster of this Ducati thing but times were different back then....

  4. I'm guessing this is the precursor to the first Ducati electric motorbike.

And people can rant as much as they want but within 20 years the ICE will be finished as a mode of road transport.

  5. But all it is is someone else's product with a Ducati badge on it.

  6. I guess it gives them a taster with limited risk. The bike is using a Bosch motor, maybe there’s something there in terms of developing a relationship.

On the continent eBikes are big business. My Swiss friends use an eBike to do the school run, and I noticed lots in Germany when on my bike this year.

  7. Yes but it lets everyone know this is the future of things and Ducati is active in that.

  8. Not been here in a while, sold my SuperDuke and I’m now spending most of my spare time cycling an eBike - 700 miles in the last 10 weeks. I would urged anyone to give one a try, it makes cycling/mountain biking so much more accessible, I’m riding further, faster and for longer than I do on my conventional MTB

  9. You should do MX. Honda have developed a battery MX bike, not a fan myself but can see it being used as an e class event

  10. I’ve ridden MX a few times on small KTM’s and some bigger Yamaha’s, it’s fun but I prefer my mountain bikes. It’s much more accessible, I’m out the front door and into my local trails and downhill within a 15 min pedal. I can cover 40 miles of hills, forests, downhill and jumps in a few hours - green laning is fairly mundane in comparison.

  11. KTM also have a lot of e enduro type bikes. Seem popular and quick. With the complaints about noise e bikes can only help.
Enjoy the mtb :upyeah:pricey and for the money I just think, I could buy an mx bike for that lol.
    Looking good there :upyeah:

Agreed, not cheap but worth it (for me). You can get a decent full suspension eBike for 3k now. I’m a tart and like my sorted suspension so went for the more expensive and fancy Fox stuff. It brings more smiles per mile than my 17k SuperDuke and I’m loosing weight, although I know MX is also a good way of keeping fit! :upyeah:
