Hi guys, Have been having some issues with hard starting (previous thread). Went through a lot of fault finding which has lead me to the starter clutch. So she’s all apart, the sprag clutch spring that held the rollers in was completely broken, all the rollers were mashed. I’ve read a few posts about sprag clutches, some people say replace all three parts (one way, starter gear, starter flange) some people say inspect the parts and replace as necessary. I’ve inspected all the parts, the one way clutch being the main issue. The starter gear has about 0.01mm of wear so I’m probably going to replace that too. The flange is in good condition. So I called up Ducati about some parts and nearly fell off my chair! £120 for the one way clutch. £160 for the starter gear. £90 for the flange. Now eBay have all 3 for £139. Comes pre built from China... anyone had any experience with one of these? They also have a “hardened” version of the one way clutch for about £31. My bikes only on 7k and I’d be pretty annoyed if I spent £370 on parts that only lasted another 7k or less. If anyone knows of anywhere to get OEM parts at a better price that would be helpful too.
