Hi everybody, I looked a few topics about Hands Free Ignition Problem from the forum but I haven't find any solutions. My problem is bike won't switch on the ignition with key even recovery button; as an action authorized dealler change a new handsfree unit under warranty (also key fob battery) and the problem has been solved for 1 week. However hands-free fault still continues, bike's ignition sometimes work, sometimes not work. Also when I succeed to fired up the bike and rode it, all electric gone again and stall during the road. Has anybody experienced like that fault? I have challenged that problem for 5 months

I had the same problem. The handsfree unit is sitting in a location on the bike where it is vulnerable to water ingress. The unit fails and presents as electrical failures including stalling, erratic turning on / off of power and so on. You need to get the bike on a diagnostic tester to confirm the error code but ultimately it will require a new hands free unit to be fitted.
Thanks for feed back. Handsfree unit has already changed to a new one and there is no error code when we connect to diagnostic tool. Also, immobilizer light flashing and I am able to lock on and lock off steering but ignition won't turn on key and recovery button. There is no electric to dashboard.
Does it only happen when you are at home, or all the time? If only at home, could there be a radio frequency causing a masking effect?
I think raido frequency is not causing because even ride a bike in the highway everything turns off and electiric shutdown completely and nothing happening. Again key and recovery button not work.
I wonder if it is worth pulling the nose cone off and the screen bracket to check the dash panel plug is not been leaking water and is plugged in correctly?
Hi. I had a very simular issue where the electrics would shut off on the move and then had to wait for approx 10 mins before I could restart the bike. During this time when the bike would not start I noticed that the rear light cluster was flashing randomly. Took the bike to the dealer and they diagnosed a defective BBS unit. Apart of the brain apparently. Ironically I also had a new handsfree unit fitted....
Yikes... Even worse than mine then. TBH I lost patience with it and changed my 2015 DVT to a 2017 DVT S... And I have gone from thinking MTS is a lemon to loving my current one. I came so close to just never going near them again. Glorious bikes though.
It may be a good idea to open all sockets under tank and dash and spray them with contact spray. Something is not connected properly
Near to one of my local bike meets a row of car hookup points were installed. I avoided parking near them as when i walked near them i could hear a low hiss. Anyway oneday at a particularly busy bike meet I inadvertently parked near one of these chargers I should have known better as my dash blinked and when i locked my steering lock on the dash went blank without saying 'locked'. Later it wouldn't unlock and when recovered the bike had to be dragged onto the recovery truck. Luckily J&L m/c's sorted it under warranty as the hands free module had failed. Talking to a comms engineer sometime later he said the electrical field from some charging modules can cause intereference of such keyless devices and cause them to fail. Now i dont go anywhere without my foil hat friends. Just saying.....
