  2. Does my head in too , all these absolute scum bags concentrating on anything other than driving.
Half of these c*nts can’t even walk and chew gum at the same time , and yet they feel that they are proficient in being able to multi task at the wheel. It’s just a matter of time before they kill someone.

Coming home the other night some twat driving along watching a movie on his phone which was propped up on his dash, and simultaneously eating a fish supper. WTF. Weaving all over the road and totally oblivious to the car horns and flashing lights trying to get his attention.

Don’t get me started on how car manufacturers are allowed to make touch screens in cars as big as an iPad . These aren’t distracting either are they ?

  3. Don’t apologies, it was fun/interesting.
    Start the other thread.

  4. Last October on a bright dry day I was in lane 2 of a dual carriageway doing 70mph. Along comes a car in lane 1 that decides suddenly it wants to be in lane 2!
The driver pulled in to my lane with no indication. If I hadn’t swerved I’d have been off. She was turning the wheel in her right hand. Her left hand was holding her phone which she was texting on.
My Drift helmet cam got all this; as did Plod later that week.
    She got 6 points & a £200 fine.
Sometimes Plod do act on such incidents.

  5. I was chatting to a police biker recently. He told me they’d just got an HGV so they could pull up next to HGV’s and look in.
Apparently drivers are watching movies or cooking their dinner while driving.

And think of all the shit storm that will come up when they bring in computer driven vehicles. Bring it on I say. Much better than many of the half wits with half their tiny brains on the road.

  6. That is really good to hear. Yes they do take action when they have the material/evidence to do it with. I had no hard evidence, just my unsubstantiated claim.

I wasn’t having ago at The Force. They need the evidence.

  7. Best not :innocent:

  8. I see people with very large tablets on laps/steering wheel from my vantage in a lorry. I think phone holders should be obligitory for hgv's & then trickle down rules apply to cars eventually.

£1,000 for using a phone doesn't seem to be making much effect on people.

  9. I do apologise ... sorry but it’s just since I shaved my Barnet I’ve found I’m into blond syrups ( wigs ) now and the odd dress.. you did look good mind on that multi though...x

  10. How did you know he hair was straightened? What’s that got to do with it?

  11. This is a normal everyday behaviour for most folks in society, like flushing the toilet/having breakfast etc & you'll not change peoples bad habits over night.I blame the late Steve Jobs he's your fall guy.

  12. Personally I think the penalties if you get caught are a harsh deterrent, I don't feel it is my job to enforce these laws.

Let the police be police, you just worry about what your doing wrong.

Let he who *yada yada* stone

  13. When the driver in my incident decided to text while driving at 70 mph I would love to feel confident that at some point along her journey a police officer would deal with her. Sadly I know that’s an extremely slim chance.
When said driver decides to text and drive and then proceed to move lanes without looking, indicating and still texting then Plod will and did get my video.
Hopefully she’ll learn and maybe avoid having a serious RTC in the future.

  14. Quick thought. If attention is spent on what other users are doing in their cars, what is left for what's actually happening around you? And how is that different to the one texting to start with?

  15. I drove over a traffic island once for that exact reason

  16. You should get a Doris to do it for you, rather than trying to DIY.

  17. I was on a punishment course for undertaking on the M3 ( people doing 60 in lane 3 etc) which was better than getting points anyway , the two instructors were telling us that they are close now to being able to tell if someone is using a phone at the wheel ( not a passenger ) on a smart motorway .. they certainly knew their stuff so all I can say is I can’t doubt them... x

  18. Most of those guys talk scaretactics bull. I used to work with a team that race the courses ;)

  19. That’s where I’ve been going wrong !

  20. @bradders;
I was on my GS so looked down and to the left of me, clearly seeing into the car. As the car drifted into my lane, as I was higher than her roof it was obvious what she was doing.
So sent video in. If I was on the Pani i would not have seen her phone in her left hand.
