V4 Aprilia Rsv4 1100 Factory Or Ducati V4

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Scott21, Aug 12, 2019.

  1. Have you seen him on that track day? What a knob...

  2. I have not but I can imagine.

  3. I’ve got a base V4, used to have a 2011 RSV4 Factory APRC and have had a test ride on the new 1100 RSV4, out of them is probably pick the Aprilia to be honest, such a sweet handling and easy to get on with bike, the Ducati is great too though, I guess go and test ride them both and see which you prefer.
If I were getting a track bike though think I’d go for something Japanese and cheaper and easier to get parts for, couldn’t go far wrong with a ZX10R imo.

  4. I had a rsv4rf 2018 for a year just for track and I know is not an 1100 but cant see the difference being huge !...I now ride a V4 panigale just for track. for me its what you want out of your track day & riding.
here are some of my in the seat observations..

Pani V4 has so much linear power everywhere ! it pulls in every gear and goes through the rev so fast...it feels so powerfull….of the apex the grunt is unreal !

Rsv4rf the power is linear and it pulls in all gears but is softer and does not feel as fast...

the v4 changes direction quicker than the pani v4, the pani v4 is so much better than the older 1299 ! they are night and day ! so the apriia turns quicker and changes direction quicker however in the corner and out he duke feels more planted and solid so you feel you can get the power on !.

electronics tbh I could not tell the difference lol ! at my level !,,,I will say the autoblipper on the duke feels smoother.

brakes again cant tell if there is any difference...! lol

the Aprilia is surgically fast ! does everything so good that I felt as though I was so far from its limit and it was just cruising around lol...gave me some feedback and an expereice with the sound etc over an il4 but it was to easy for the bike lol

for me its the duke all day ! it just gives me a more visceral experience ! I feel as though Im on a wsb and every lap is an experience...you have to be riding it quite hard not flat out by any means to really get the bike to come alive and when it does it's just amazing it really is ! it is sooooo fast lol ! or feels like it !

I know the ape I had was not the 1100 however I have had 4 and they are all very very similar.....

I hope that helped....its what you want on your trackday I want an experience as its my hobby I don't ride win a track day lol ! both mega and both give more imho than an i4 ad I have all of them ! R1 gixxer zx beemer etc.....

  7. You don't have to be a riding god to recognise when somebody's only skill is having a lot of money and talking shite. His track 'comparison' was embarrassing. He can go straight like a boss though - genius!

  8. There’s a great video of him binning his brand new R3 on the first corner of a warm up lap, so slowly his airbag suit didn’t even deploy

  13. Yes you did! :p

  14. Back to the OP question. The Aprilia certainly seems a pretty handy weapon. There's a couple 44 Teeth reviews on it and it seems pretty dam good as a track weapon.
I've just had the Evo2 software loaded onto my V4S. And it really does take my shitty skills to the next cheating bastard level! I did Donington last week and felt rather heroic. It'll all end in tears but it's fun by crikey! :):upyeah:
So.... dunno which you should get really

  19. I've ridden both a V4S and RSC41100 on track, and would go straight for the Aprilia every time if it was a straight choice of the two
I rode the Aprilia for the first time at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago, and was blown away by how good it is
The only thing worth considering, is if you're using it a lot, the Aprilia, in typical Aprilia fashion, is likely to let you down
My mates, that I rode, was basically a brand new road bike with Vo2 slicks, Akra exhaust, rearsets, track fairings and ABS delete. Was possibly the most fun bike I've ridden, and more fun even than the new BMW S1000RR which I was impressed with too.
The Aprilia was a really impressive bike, and although maybe not faster than the BMW, it was a load more fun and sounded like a proper GP bike
