Do you really want to take the risk with Li-Ion batteries? Even Boeing have had their share of problems http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/15/business/boeing-presents-fix-for-787s-battery-problems.html?_r=0
Yep, many thousands now around mate, they have sorted the problems of early LiPO batts and most of the horror stories are of people using the wrong types of Li cells to make motorcycle batteries.. Anyway I'd be more worried about the one you have in your pocket, on the bed side, in the kids room you know the one of zillions used in near ALL modern devices....
Got my new battery today, direct replacement went like for like as my old Yuasa lasted ages, was only the year and a half spent not being run up that killed it. Bike started up first time, which amazed me, think all the relay issues before might just have been due to not enough volts in old battery.
Get yourself an Optimate. I have all my bikes connected to them and have never had a battery fail on me yet. For me, it's false economy not to have one. At £50 they work out at approx the same cost as a battery, and you only have to buy these once. The only time I've had to replace a battery is when buying a second hand bike with an NG battery. My MV Agusta has had the same battery fitted for 7 years and is still working perfectly. I'm acturlly thinking of replacing it as I can't believe that I'm not having problems with it. This bike also has a Datatool alarm fitted, pretty amazing really. View attachment 13514
