1199 S On The Way!

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Gav4R, Sep 10, 2019.

  1. Hi Guys,

Been a while since I have been on the forum, trust you are all well.

Agreed a purchase on a 1199s this month, deposit paid and going to see the bike in the flesh on Thursday. It's a 500 mile round trip however I'm sure it will be worth it if not to meet the owner who seems to be a great guy and an enthusiast like the rest of us.

Bike seems to have some great modifications and upgrades, 6000 miles on the clock.

Any suggestions on rear paddock stands and any other extras you think would make a great addition?

    Thanks
    Gav

  3. Welcome Gav,

Get rid of those nasty OEM mirrors and get some mirror blanking plates and some Oberon bar end mirrors.

    Best looking mod IMO

  7. :eek::eek::eek: Wasn't expecting that!!!!!

    Sweet Gav:upyeah:

    Some very nice parts indeed....

Is that an SC Project exhaust badged as a Akropovic?

  8. Yes buddy that’s correct, it’s a full titanium SC Project system. The original SC badge came off so he replaced it with the Akro badge. Will order the SC badge at some point.

  11. Not sure of your frame size but you might want to move the Lightec rearsets slightly lower... full on up and back on pictures! Hardcore.... Or a man with short legs! I've the same setup and there mega quality! Best part of 700 sheets for the folding version..... Matching levers to:upyeah: Sweeeet

  14. Went to see the bike yesterday, you weren't kidding about the sound! my god it's loud!!!

  15. As an 1199s owner. Your first purchase should be a roll of aluminum tape from B&Q for taping to the bottom of the seat. Near stops all the heat from reaching your balls.

  16. Do you find this makes much difference?

Normally only try to ride mine in cooler days as a rule :)

  17. Yeah, for sure. I've got the Ducati Comfort seat and a full roll of Ally tape placed evenly over the bottom of the seat. I can be sat in traffic on a 20c day with the bike at 104-5c and the seat feels just warm but not hot. The subframe is scorching hot as expected.

The tape job only takes ten mins to do. Doesn't need to be a work of art either, just get a few layers built up and your good to go.

Was always meaning to get some of this, but never got around to it.

I’ve got some self adhesive foil tape that you use to join slabs of Celotex insulation boards, may give that a go then :):upyeah:
