Anyone Into Guns?

Discussion in 'Non bike stuff for sale' started by West Cork Paul, Aug 19, 2019.

  1. Would you meet in a lay by, swap cash for gun, no names exchanged?
    ......Asking for a friend

  2. Done that already, waaaaay too late :eyes:

  3. What....you've already bought them?
If you have a spare gun with no numbers and untraceable, "my friend" would be interested. Thanks.

  5. I have back in NZ a .22 1916 Winchester that breaks in half with a few turns of a thumb screw and fits in a small back pack..
Wicked lil gun and really accurate , although last time I used it, I had some duff ammo and it kept miss firing so after the first shot hit the possom and it stopped firing, I climbed the tree and clubbed it with the lil Winchester.. not sure how true it would be now!
Had a synthetic stock rugger 10/22
    Another great gun.
My older bro used to pick up old 303's and what not from the £50 bargine bucket at serious shooters in Mt Wellington (where I got the lil Winchester) and restore them.
    Proper boom sticks!

  6. I’m guessing there was no need for a licence in those days in NZ? Probably a bit different now.

  7. May have a “gold e” sitting in the safe for sale if your interested.

  8. Not sure about now days but although you have always needed a licence for a gun in NZ (as long as I can remember)illegal possession of a fire arm only amounted to a small fine if inforced . I'd say it would have been a bit more severe if you were caught doing something naughty or had an armoury but a few rifles stored properly wouldn't have got you in too much trouble

  9. I know a guy that shot another man dead and although he got off on self defense due to the circumstances ( long story) he did get charged for illegal possession and fined a few hundred dollars...

  10. Blimey, possession of a firearm (which includes air rifles/pistols) for which there is no licence, here in Ireland results in a 5-14 year jail sentence:astonished:.

Not only that but whereas in the UK I held a licence and all the guns were listed on that licence, and my wife held a licence and all the guns were listed on that licence here I have to have an individual licence for each gun and my wife has to have an individual licence for each gun as well. Plus these licences have to be renewed every 3 years. It’s costing a small fortune just to keep them in the gun safe; money I could be spending on my bikes which get used far more frequently.

  15. I actually owned one of those. Had it stolen from me in a violent robbery.
Luckily I was on the shitter when they struck so couldn’t reach it. Three armed robbers broke in and there were 4 outside. So I’d have been wasted if I had the gun to hand.

  16. Don't know about here in Eire but in the UK, yep, provided it can't take more than 3 cartridges at a time. Useful weapons though.
