  1. Escaping again. One less set of drugs, as they suspect the two are making me feel ill, so see how that goes.

Going to take a week at home, try and have a walk everyday and see how that is before I decide to go back to work. (Fingers crosses a week Monday)

Thanks again for all the well wishes. If anyone is out and about during the week my way (Glos) feel free to drop by for a decaf-coffee (!)

  2. I know that as a contractor if you don’t work you don’t earn, but seriously Paul get well first, then worry about going back to work. And if you have to work then do it gradually. Your body will thank you for it. :)

  3. I know you will so please do not be offended, if you are going out for a walk on your own, please take your mobile with you. Until they find out what is buggering you up, best play safe chap.

  4. I would come and see you as I'm at home now. Unfortunately, my car has been returned to Mitsubishi as I could not keep up payments. I have an ST2 in bits downstairs (I was replacing cam belts before my accident) and a ST3 at my brother's house near Salisbury after I smacked it in January.

    Near any bus routes?

  10. It's a very weird experience. My brother, who is classed as my 'legal friend' was saying that the solicitors have got 30 grand to pay for me to see medical experts about my injuries! I mustn't be optimistic about my recovery as we want the worst possible reports! My leg can still hurt sometimes but I have to say it hurts all the time. My physio likes me to be positive and try harder, so my attitude has to be different depending on who I am talking to.

  11. Take it easy Bradders, your ticker is telling you something. Take the odd little walk, don’t push things too fast.

Work can wait, think of yourself.

Hope things go well for you...the sofa is calling you!

  12. Good luck, as said dont rush things. I tried to get back to work with broken ribs after a carting accident, too early. Lesson learned but only after significant pain!

  13. In Glos on the 23rd on the Panzer. If you about I’ll bring biscuits:upyeah:

  15. I can feel your pain (being a fellow scumbag contractor) I went back to work with a stick and got away with it, needless to say if I had been staff I'd have had weeks off.
Look after yourself, resist the contractor temptation to return to work - there's loads of time to not take any holidays coming up :p

  17. I don’t want to be a harbinger of doom but be careful over egging symptoms to medico-legal experts as defendant insurance companies can and do put PI claimants under covert surveillance in high value claims. Also, at some point (I don’t know what stage you are at in your claim) you will be required to disclose all your medical records and if they’re inconsistent with your medico-legal reports the insurers will start digging and at worst they could fight your claim to trial instead of settling or make you a low ball offer.

I represented a woman earlier this year who ended up getting jail time for contempt of court for doing that and part of her defence was that she had told to do so by professionals who frankly should have known better.

  18. GWS and take it easy Bradders :mask::upyeah:

  19. I know someone who got found out about his claim by being observed waking to school to get the kids when he wasn't supposed to be able to walk. Just to put the tin hat on it, his claim for loss of earnings had a bit a of question mark raised when compared to his tax returns which basically declared half of what he was claiming from the insurance co.

    BTW @bradders GWS.
