  1. Thought I'd post just in case anyone's interested, Matts got 2 up for grabs. Yes I know its 10k for a Triumph and yes I know its alot of doe for not alot of poke in a straight line but trust me these are orgasmic in a corner and maintained to the highest standard.

  2. Was reading from Tony this morning about the change in regs for gp2 regs for next year.

madness. It’s like SH and the bsb team are deliberately trying to hinder the class

  3. What are the changes? The announcement I saw seemed to be an small tidying excercise’? Or has Kennedy been moaning that these under-powered m2 style bikes are beating him... ;)

  4. Here you go:
We have just received a copy of the regulations for GP2 for the next two years and sure enough, they have removed the potential for the 765 to compete. Not only that but they have added a 5KG weight penalty to the 675, reduced our rev limit by 500rpm and insisted that only the 675 has to run Motec (5k cost). You would think that someone is trying to hamstring our bike and drag our engineering standards back to theirs. I now read they are to cap the price of the suspension used in GP2, is that because it will make the Championship cheaper, or is it because people want to stop us introducing Carbon Fibre forks to the paddock, I am making an educated guess that it is the latter.

We already pay £6500 + VAT for our forks, forks that allow us to play at the front end of Supersport and be competitive, (Kalex Forks are way more) forks that match the ability of the riders we have. Interestingly enough the Carbon Fibre units cost no more than this, so we never intended to increase costs, simply to innovate. So a class that is designed to take riders on to Moto 2 is potentially going to be dumbed down to save everyone a couple of grand on forks, in the overall scheme of things I don't see it making a positive difference.

GP2 is supposed to start where Supersport left off, the long term running costs are already cheaper than Supersport, now they are potentially going to make it harder to compete with Supersport, the very class it was designed to replace.
Why are we being singled out, why would you do this to a British Company that was innovative enough to start this series off in the first place? It's a disgrace.
