  1. I always turn up on the dot (punctuality Pete)& spend plenty of time with the client discussing their requirements and provide a written quotation not an estimate like most other folks and do not leave the commission until completed.but they broke the mould when they made me.;)

  2. Tb:
The two older fella who have done some gardening work have been great and reliable
The chippy that did our under stair cupboard turn up and time and did what they promised
The fire installers turned up on time and did what they said

so not all bad....I find the hardest is getting someone to actually turn up to quote on work!

  3. I second that as i needed an electrician/central heating man for the full monty on a project recently but based on them not showing up or two hours late etc and providing crazy prices i did it myself.:)

It has many hidden compartments for secrets....

I've loved this piece since I was four years old and I've managed to acquire it for a reasonable sum and the previous owner is also very happy to sell it to someone who appreciates 'craftsmanship'.
The research on the original owner of the box has a very interesting history, including a 'remote' connection to Jane Austin. The first owner is mentioned in one of her letters!
