Motorcycle Transport

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Gav4R, Oct 21, 2019.

  1. Hi Guys

Looking for a highly recommended and reputable motorcycle transport company.

I have contacted a couple found on the forum however most have a 7 days delivery window.

Can anyone recommend a company to transport a bike from NR20 4EU to LL31 9FF same day service?

    Thanks in advance
    Gav

  2. Unless you pay a fortune, you’re paying for the whole journey not just as return’ as many will try to do to reduce your cost, renting a van and collecting is probably the best way.

  3. Happy to hire a van and drive it’s just the loading ramp and equipment need to ensure the bike is safe and secure in transport.

  4. I've done in a hire van using two sets of £6 tie downs from Halfords and a wooden plank for a ramp. Drive slow & you'll be fine. A quick five hour drive according to google.

  6. +1 for @I’m closing in.

moved bikes for me.Good job done.

  7. If your a bit iffy about getting the bike loaded on a plank then look at hiring a van with a tail lift.

The more ratchet straps the better, maybe apply front brake with cable tie. Wheel chocks are great for transporting.

  8. I’d be amazed if someone local couldn’t lend you the bits you need. I’m glos way, and I have a wheel chock, ramp, tie downs you’re welcome to borrow. And I’m sure others would be the same local to wherever you are

  9. I've moved many bikes over the years in my own personal space, but if you don't know what you are doing/tying down etc get the experts in with a risk free travel experience for the bike & your nerves.

  10. Cheers Sam but been honest it’s more a mates service as you know I move various things with bikes I’m not solely bike transport but yes I can confidently do it fully insured in uk but out here in Europe less so
