Hi All A mate has just bought a cat N write off V4R from a Salvage Company in Chester to build up into a track bike, and is hoping someone knows the bike so we can get some history on it The bike is a 2019 V4R reg plate AV19 AEE I don't suppose anyone knows anything about this bike ? The damage is pretty minimal, and appears to be fairings, clip ons, Right winglet missing (Blimmin replacements are £400each) and right hand side Rearset is slightly bent and the peg is snapped. Oddly, the front axle has a very slight bow in it too, but forks, yoke and headstock all seem ok There's the very smallest slight dent in the tank on the right hand side too, and you could cover it with a 5p piece He only got one (Black) key with the bike too
Did he get the damage report ? Cat N is non core structural but other safety structures, steering / suspension may be compromised, if the front axle has a bot the forks may also have bent or the yokes twisted as that will have taken a fair thump .... Good luck with the recommissioning, also suspect the blades are about to get cheaper with the new V4S getting them, also I think aftermarket ones can be had for less ....
AV is the Anglian regional identifier I believe? Cat N is the old Cat D so likely to be superficial and not much more. Just a thought, being that new, does it have the dealer number plate still attached?
Any Ducati dealer will be able to check the VIN number against the DCS all dealers & factory are linked to. Depending on if it’s been touched by a dealer of course.
It's more to understand what sort of crash it's had rather than knowing the dealers that supplied and serviced it It's done just over 1000 miles, and you can see from the Annual count down to service that the 620 mile service was done in June this year
Front spindle is common to bend, my old cat d had a bent spindle and the forks were fine, front wheel was buckled also but maidstone motorliner sorted the wheel out.
That's the one, yeah He knocked him down a bit on the price, so if he can get it up and running again for 2-3k, he's got himself a bargain V4R track bike It's properly loud though, so might be for noisy days and Spanish trips only
I'm hearing far too much feedback on V4R's and oil leakage. I hear there's a recall for a clutch seal now. Which is a pain because I've retro fitted the V4R dry clutch on my V4S
