Best Track Bike?

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Cream_Revenge, Nov 8, 2019.

  1. For me it really it doesn't matter about capacity, it's all about being able to get the feel of the bike and therefore the confidence to place it where you want. I find that performance then follows in terms of pace, consistency, and safety (all relative).

I'd love to say I'm not fussed about times, but as my experience has developed, the times have become more important. I do however look back to when I first started out and running the 749 around the outside of people on entry and mid-corner to get the drive out was an intoxication challenge. Fun times! :upyeah::grinning:

If "fun" is going balls out to keep in front of the latest 1-million BHP superbike then a smaller capacity bike is well up there. Whereas if you want to be quick and have the ability to make a mistake but still deliver a good lap time, a 1000cc+ is your friend :motorcycleduc:

  2. gixxer 750, just the right amount of power with rider involvement and an awful lot of fun.

  3. I got one of them, it's pretty good to be fair.

I think @bradders nailed it, the most fun I have is when I'm neck and neck with a mate. Last time out with @Northan Monkey was the best day I've had. As long as he doesn't go and by an RSV v4!

  4. I’ll be back out on the 924 next year for sure. But still looking for a crash damaged Rsv4. It’s just a matter of time!(but no guarantee I’ll be any quicker)

  5. No such thing as best really as everyone is different :)

  6. Best track bike is the bike that you don't own

  7. Unless you have to pay if you bend it!

  8. Money buys horse power and fancy carbon ohlins brembo blah blah, but the most fun for me is the oldest least powerful analogue 100 bhp bike that dives up the inside, but is blitzed on the straights....

  11. It's all relative to your own situation. I don't think I'd "upgrade". I'm very happy.
