  1. it will be so hard to hit the kill switch as you approach.

  2. It’s a tough one this noise issue. My 1098 with Termis is loud. Arguably too loud & certainly if I lived in a biking meet area & that is all I could hear for periods of the day, it would bother me. I ride with my mate who has the big zzr & mine is louder with the engine off than his is at full throttle (well you know what I mean) & when we’re riding through quaint old towns & villages I do feel conscious of the noise from mine but...it’s supposed to sound like that & I rather like it & we’ve always had loud bikes, why, like everything else nowadays is everything a problem that has to be stopped or legislated against?

  3. Yeah - and while i totally agree with you - your idea and someone elses (who doesnt like bikes and wants to spend his afternoon mowing his garden in peace and quiet) isnt....and thats the issue..i think my rsv4 with a full akra system sings beautifully with a lovely crack on the gear change and a little bit of burbling on the over run when getting thrashed is sheer music but, coming back in south wales last year i past a pub out in the middle of no where and the patrons were looking at me like id just gone round their houses and shit in the kettle...theyll get brought in and we (bikers) will be on the receiving end of it....only way (the way i see it) is a strategically placed number plate...i hear most of you say..."well youll get knicked for that" and yes i agree you will...but ive had what i would deem to be a ridiculously placed number plate on mine and been past countless numbers of cops (one just before xmas in an m5 gunship) and didnt give me a second look....its my perception that cops in cars these days like to let the camera vans and said cameras do the work for them (from that point of view) and i intend to capitalize on that fact...i dont know of anyone thats received 3 points for not so much a small plate (mines a 9x7) but one thats placed the other way so it can be seen from behind but not from above. I think, you can be fined but not pointed (im sure someone will be along to correct me) but assuming it is (a fine) id take that with open arms....

  5. Not be long till everything will be battery powered and we will all live in peace and quiet

  6. Apart from the reversing lorry like mandatory white noise sound generators, which enable the partially sighted and ‘phone users to not step in front of the traffic.

There’l be noise Jim, but not as we know it.

  7. Has anyone had a ticket or are these like TV detector vans?

  8. they are trialling at the moment, but you can see they are equipped with cameras? The laughable bit is how they will effectively single out a law-breakingly noisy motorbike and accurately attach it to a licence plate.
