Hey Guys, When i picked up my duc, ive had a really wierd issue.. every time i turn the bars to a "full-lock" right, the revs/idle of the engine goes up! And now a new problem has appeard.. Once the engine is warm, the idle goes to 2400-2600 and stays there.. i cant seem to figure out when the heck is causing this. Its a 2004 749 with about 16000 KMs on the clock.. Do you have any suggestions? /Rayat
Normal culprit is the routing of the idle adjust lever cable on the left bar. Ensure it isn't being trapped by the other cables. If you can eliminate that problem first.
Or could be your throttle cables snagging, maybe they've been routed wrongly. Especially if previous owner has fitted a QAT. Dont know about the revs rising issue though.
My 749 used to have the same rising revs issue on full lock as well - from memory, I changed to a quick action throttle and all was well, but just checking the cable routes would be a good start.
