Although they have been in trouble for a while and had a partial Virgin airways package which was given some months ago, Flybe looks to be in trouble again with an appointed liquidator due to step in on Friday if no rescue package can be found. If you are booked with them to travel soon or were thinking of doing so, it might be worth checking what's going on with your travel agent or flybe themselves. https://news.sky.com/story/regional-airline-flybe-in-frantic-bid-to-stave-off-collapse-11907407
Shame, very competitive market, hope all those people who have booked still get a nice holiday And of course shame for all the employees that may lose theirs jobs
Great thanks for the heads up - I’ve got two blokes flying over to guernsey this morning that I need to get back sometime later this week ferry it is then ☹️
It's sad about Flybe , but nothing new . The big players can be savage .... Look what BA did to knobble Freddie Laker , then they tried again ( and got their fingers burned ) when Virgin Atlantic got popular . Smaller airlines operate on very thin profit margins and often rely on niche markets / routes . Fuel price hikes , or fewer than expected bums-on-seats can break them . For example , Monarch had a very handy service to Almeria , and with good prices , but I don't think they're in business any more .
