Hi, I am changing from 2015 DVT to 1260 and I am wanting to know if the existing top box plate that bolts onto the 1200, still fits 1260. I am aware that there is a difference in the panniers but has any change been made to the 1260 that would cause a problem with the old top box mounting plate. Thanks Paul
When I had the idea to change to the 1260 I was informed that the top box and mounting plate would fit, indeed some here have already carried out the switch.
Hi Guys I am picking my 1260 (trading in a 13 plate 1200) today and the dealer has told me I need to buy a new complete set of panniers and top box. I can see that the anchor point on the foot peg has changed, but the top box plate looks the same!! Am I being sold a £500 pup???
The panniers and top box mounting plate/support bars changed when the DVT model was introduced in 2015. The way the top box fixes onto the plate is the same but the plate is a different shape and the way it attaches is different. So you'll need a new set of panniers. You could keep your top box but will need the dealer to supply new top box mounting parts.
Hi I know this is a bit back but when you did this did the support arms from your 1200dvt fit on the 1260
I hope to god I don’t need new panniers as I retained my ones from the DVT, I thought they were the same?
