959 Ecu - Help Identify Writing On The Back

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by LiveFast......, Jan 28, 2020.

  1. Hi Guys

Does anyone know what this might signify?

It’s from a 959 that came without an exhaust - it’s my understanding that the bike was fitted with a full Akrapovic system and had the appropriate map installed.

However the back of the ecu has this - Termi being the only obvious thing - which is at odds with the information I have about the bike.

  2. They are Rexxer tuning codes. Looks like it's been reflashed. VN denotes exhaust valve disabled, LN denotes O2 sensors disabled and C3 is full system, without 'cat or baffles.

  3. Thanks Nelly - I’m not sure many people could have answered that!

Looks like I have an issue then!

I have a stock 1299 system to put on it and was just going to pop a Rapidbike on - assumed it just had the standard upmap so the Rapidbike would have coped - but with the O2 sensors disabled and a full race map I guess that’s a non starter?

So I guess I need this putting back to stock or a new ECU! :(

  4. If you can find out who flashed it, and assuming they kept their backup files, it can be put back to stock fairly easily. There's not many in the UK that have the Rexxer. It's not one of mine though ;)

  5. I've got a brand new standard 959 ECU if it's any use.

  6. Hmm - I looked into this and It’s not good news for me! The bike was supplied by Metropolis in Barnet - they are listed as dealers on the Rexxer site so I’m pretty certain they did the original map.

Unfortunately they have gone out of business!

Is it possible to load a stock map back on? Is this something you could do @nelly ?

I would imagine there would be complications in replacing the ECU, immobiliser, mileage.

  7. That's a PITA.... Possibly. I'll look into it, I'd need the ECU sending up to us, but could work with it from here. Probably treat it as a fresh reflash, so it'd be £250 if it worked out.
Bear with us if you could as I'm away for a couple of days working. The workshop will be open if you want to send it though.

  8. No rush at the moment - I need to get another bike serviced anyway so I’ll bring it with me then - could you use the map from another stock 959? If so - that’s the bike I would be bringing for service!

  9. I have the base map. The Rexxer tool works on a credit system. If I had done the original flash, then I have the codes to flash the ECU over and over. As I haven't opened her up prior, I'd need to use one of my own credits to start again
