Which Motorcycle Selection For Guzzidiag?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by mrkoopsy, Feb 1, 2020.

  1. I’m doing my own servicing and wish to reset the maintenance indicator on my SFS 1098. I’ve downloaded Guzzidiag but don’t know which motorcycle to select from the long list of Guzzi models (apparently its a question of knowing which same ECU protocol is used for Ducati 1098)?

  2. I’ve always used JPDIAG which lists the Ducati’s.

  3. Thanks Geoffduk, but I want to run on my Apple laptop so OSX compat.

  4. Alternatively three different ways to use JPDIAG if you can’t connect with Guzzi. Personally haven’t tried myself on Mac as mostly use an iPad but used to run split partition drives with user selectable operating systems such as Linux and Microsoft and worked well. Personally I use a cheap notepad running windows xp and works fine. A second hand one cost me £20 as old tech and pretty much obsolete.
    • The notebook is set aside only for my bikes.
here’s my cheap notebook which runs JPDIAG and my belt tension software. JPDIAG has a built in tensioner which works fine but I use a different one.
Best of luck whatever you decide.

    • To dual-boot between macOS and Windows, use Apple's Boot Camp . ...
    • To run Windows in a virtual machine within macOS, use Parallels Desktop , VMware Fusion , or VirtualBox . ...
    • To run Windows programs without having to install Windows itself, use a Windows compatibility layer, such as CrossOver Mac

  5. Thanks, I’ll look into these options

  6. The 1200 Norge and 1200 Sport use the IAW5AM PF1C ECU. The 1200 Stelvio uses a IAW5AM PF2C. The 1098 also uses a IAW5AM ecu so I'd try these.
Geoff uses JPdiag, I use ScanM5X on an Android phone.
